Frequently asked questions
Which file formats can PacTerm extract data from?
PDF (digital and scanned), DOC, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, ODT, ODP, ODS, RTF, PNG and JPG, plus ZIP archives containing any of them. You can also re-upload previously digitized JSON to skip OCR.
Does it work on scanned contracts?
Yes. When a PDF has no usable text layer, PacTerm converts the pages to images and reads them with AI vision OCR before extraction.
How do we check the accuracy of extracted values?
Every value includes a confidence score and the source page and snippet it was taken from, and calculated values are flagged. Reviewers can focus on low-confidence values instead of re-reading every contract.
Can we extract our own custom fields?
Yes. Add custom attributes individually or in bulk from an Excel template: up to 5 on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise. Essential uses the predefined attribute set.
